No Party Tonight

Paulina has been tasked with caring for her younger sister Angelica while their parents are away for the weekend. Angelica is a 20 year old college student with a rebellious spirit while her older sister Paulina is a tired graduate who just wants to stay in and relax. They play a card game in the basement of their family home but it is clear only Paulina is invested in the game while Angelica is texting and sending selfies to her friends. When Angelica won't continue the card game, Paulina tries to come up with other ideas of things for them to do together. But Angelica has no interest in any of that, she has already made plans to go to a party which all her friends will be at. Paulina reminds Angelica that their mom already ordered that Angelica can't go to parties and must be home by ten. Angelica brushes it off and goes upstairs to her room while Paulina is left to watch TV by herself.

Angelica goes to her room and makes a choice between two dresses to wear out to the party. However, someone sinister is watching her from within the closet. Angelica gets changes while Paulina puts on the tea kettle and looks at the note written by their mom with the curfew in bold. Angelica finished getting ready in her room and puts on lipstick to complete her look. As she checks herself out in the mirror, Paulina knocks and enters the room to let her know she is making tea. When she sees her sister dressed up and ready to go out, Paulina is angry at her disobedience. Angelica laughs it off as the two argue and she tries to invite her older sister out with her. Paulina storms off as the tea kettle whistles loudly and slams the door behind her.

Angelica returns to her bed, texting her friends and figuring out their plan for the party. But while she is engrossed in the device, the closet door opens slowly and a figure in a ski mask and black gloves emerges slowly. The intruder creeps towards the unaware girl across the room and looms over her. Angelica sees the shape out of the corner of her eye and looks up startled. She locks eyes with the intruder leering at her from under the mask. Angelica leaps off the bed to make a run for it but a gloved hand latches onto her hair and yanks her back. A struggle ensues as Angelica tries to escape the grasp but the attacker holds on to her hair tightly. Soon he makes an opening for a hand to close itself around Angelica's neck and choke her tightly. Both hands wrap around her throat and squeeze. Angelica tries to fight off her attacker but he keeps her at a distance with outstretched arms pushing hard on her neck. Angelica swats at his face but cannot reach him or catch any breath. After a struggle, Angelica gets weaker and passes out while the strangler guides her body to the floor. He lets go of her neck and pats her face as she is briefly passed out cold.

The intruder stands up from the prone woman and steps over her, grabbing the blue hoodie she had discarded in the corner while she was changing outfits. He pulls taught on the hoodie sleeve, testing its strength. Angelica wakes up on the floor slowly in a daze, rolling over and lifting herself up on all fours. The intruder makes his next move quickly and decisively, wrapping the girls own hoodie tight around her neck and pulling hard. Angelica is pinned on the ground as she tries to break free, but the strangler has looped the hoodie tight around her throat and holds on. She kicks at him but her bard feet only kick the air. The intruder uses his strength to lift Angelica up by the neck and drag her across the room towards the window. She fights back against him but ends up being yanked back by the hoodie around her neck. The intruder hoists the other end of the hoodie up high and wraps it around the curtain rod tightly, creating a makeshift noose. Angelica's feet are lifted off the ground as the strangler pulls tightly

The noise of the struggle has alerted Paulina's attention while she drinks tea and watches TV in the basement. Unsure what the sound is, she goes to investigate. In the bedroom, Angelica is fighting for her life while the strangler hangs her with a hoodie from the curtain rod. Angelica's eyes alternate between closing tight and going wide while she gasps and gags for air. Her bare feet kick the air as she struggles desperately. The strangler holds on tight ensuring she cannot escape from the noose's grasp. After an intense struggle, Angelica fades away slowly, her head dipping to the side and her eyes slowly closing. The strangler watches closely as she fades away into unconsciousness. Before her can finish her off there is a startling knock at the door. The intruder lets go and rushes to a hiding place, leaving Angelica strung up against the window. Paulina talks through the closed door, apologizing for the argument they had and letting Angelica know that she can give her a ride to the party if it isn't too late, and so long as she promises to stay safe. Paulina does not know that her sister is KO'd and unable to hear a word she is saying. Paulina gets pissed when there is no response and assumes her sister has snuck out. She finally gets the door open and bursts in to discover her younger sister hanging from the curtain rod with her own hoodie tied tight around her neck. Paulina is shocked and rushes quickly to save Angelica, assuming she has done this to herself. The older sister feels terrible about letting down her sister in such away and apologizes profusely while shaking her awake. Angelica coughs as she comes back to consciousness, Paulina hugging her tightly and saying she is so sorry. Then Paulina sees the terror in Angelica's eyes as she points to the intruder approaching them. Paulina looks up too late, only enough time to scream in surprise before the intruder bashes her on the right side of the head and knocking Paulina out cold on the ground. Angelica looks up to the intruder in dazed horror as he looms over her and removes a roll of duct tape from his pocket. He lengthens the tape and pushes it tight onto Angelica's mouth, then drags her out of the room, before dragging Paulina's unconscious body away as well.

Both girls end up tied to chairs facing each other in the basement. Paulina wakes up first, groggy from the head wound and taking time to process her surroundings. Seeing her KO'd sister tied and tape gagged in front of her, Paulina tries to scream at her from beneath her own gag to get Angelica to wake up. Once she does, Paulina tries to comfort her and let her know they still can escape, but her younger sister is consoled by none of it, knowing the relentless horror that awaits them. The intruder steps into view, carrying the deck of card they had been playing with earlier. He runs his hands slowly across Angelica's face and braided pigtails, letting the sisters know that there will be no party tonight, and that they should play a game at home instead. He paces in a circle around his bound victims, tossing out cards onto the floor while telling a rhyme. At the end of the game he has positioned himself behind Angelica and tosses out the final card. He grabs onto Angelica's pigtails and wrap them tightly around her neck, strangling her with the pressure from her own hair. First with one long strand, and then with both crossing tightly in front of her windpipe. Angelica struggle against this crushing pressure while Paulina is forced to watch. The older sister works desperately at breaking the binds keeping her hands in place on the chair while her younger sister is ruthlessly strangled in front of her. The intruder rips the duct tape off of Angelica's mouth while he continues to choke her with her pigtails. Angelica gasps for air but none is to be had while the strangler holds on tightly. Her expressions of pain and agony are all her sister can see with the duct tape removed. After an intense struggle, Angelica fades away for the final time, killed in front of her older sister. Paulina cannot believe what she is seeing as Angelica's head falls to one side with her eyes open and unfocused. The strangler isn't taking any chances, and after he lets go of the strangling pigtails, he wraps a hand on either side of Angelica's head and twists her neck hard, snapping it. Paulina is mortified and helpless at the sight of her murdered sister, but she has finally managed to break free of the bindings holding her to the chair. While the killer looks close into the dead eyes of his victim, Paulina tenses herself for an escape quietly moving to the edge of her chair. She makes a break for it and runs past the intruder and up the stairs. He follows quickly after her, surprised at her escape.

Paulina grabs the mug of tea she left in the kitchen and tosses the hot water onto her attacker as he chases her. It only buys her a moment of time; before she can get to the door the intruder has latched onto her and punches her hard in the face. Paulina collapses to the kitchen floor in pain as the killer looms menacingly over her and then grabs on to her throat with his gloved hands and chokes her hard. Paulina's eyes go wide in shock while her bare feet slip and slide across the floor trying to get a grip. The strangler holds on tightly as Paulina shakes back and forth, trying to get up and get free. But the killer has straddled over her and uses all his might to squeeze her throat until she stops moving. Paulina twists and turns on the ground trying to get away but it is no use. She sputters and flails, then fades away. Her fight grows weak and her wide-eyed stare loses focus. Soon the darkness takes over and all fight leaves her body which falls back limp on the ground. The killer lets go, exhausted, then grabs each side of her head and snaps her neck hard in one direction, confirming the kill. He stands up straight to catch his breath and looks down at the crime scene. He leans down and grabs Paulina by each of her ankles, dragging her slowly out of the room. Both sisters end up sat next to each other on the couch in splayed out dead poses with their eyes frozen open in death stares.
