Final Mission

Agent 17 picks the lock to a quiet house and enters carefully. She carries a baseball bat and moves through the dark living room, listening for any sign of movement. She explains through narration that she is an elite assassin trained by a powerful organization called The Authority and that she is the only survivor of her training group. Her first job requires no guns or blades, only a bat, which she understands is meant to be symbolic and humiliating for the target. She checks out the first level of the safe house then moves upstairs and approaches a bedroom. She opens the door and steps quietly inside towards a shape lying under the blankets on the bed. Believing her target is asleep she steps inside and raises the bat to strike. She swings down forcefully, then stops when something feels wrong. She pulls back the blanket and discovers the bed is filled with pillows. Realizing she has been tricked, she reacts too late.

The rival assassin emerges from behind her and grabs the bat as she swings it at him. They struggle over the bat but the rival assassin is a large man that easily overpowers Agent 17. He wrenches it away and strikes her in the stomach causing her to double over in pain. He moves behind her and presses the bat across her shoulder and neck using it to restrain her. Agent 17 fights hard keeping the bat away from her neck but after some struggle he pulls it tight and cuts off her airflow. Agent 17 gasps and pushes at the bat but the rival assassin pulls the bat close against her. He questions whether the hit is personal or professional. Agent 17 admits it is a job ordered by The Authority and says he is being retired. She pleads for her life and offers to leave and report him dead.

The assassin dismisses her pleas and tightens the bat against her neck. He kicks her legs out from under her, forcing her to her knees while continuing to apply pressure tightly. Agent 17 struggles desperately, coughing and gasping as the pressure cuts off her air. Her boots slide against the ground as she is unable to get leverage. Her mouth opens wide gasping for air and her eyes roll up into her head. She fights back by clawing at his leg, causing enough pain that he releases his grip and falls back. She collapses forward and crawls toward the door, trying to escape. But the rival is up too quickly, he grabs her by the hair and pulls her back up to her feet. She tries to elbow his side and get some leverage but he absorbs the hits and strikes Agent 17 with the bat. He restrains her again with the bat pressed tightly against her throat. Agent 17 struggles with renewed effort but quickly weakens as her breathing is cut off. Her movements slow and her balance fails as she grows weak from the struggle. Her eyes grow glazed and red from the constant pressure and drool spills from her lips as she loses control of her body. Her arms grow heavy and she can no longer push away at the bat pressed against her throat. The rival pulls with all his might and a series of cracking sounds are heard as the pressure becomes fatal. Agent 17 is left with a look of stunned defeat as her neck breaks and her eyes remain wide open. Her body spasms and then goes limp. The rival assassin lowers her to the floor and releases her face down and lying motionless with her eyes open. The assassin flips her body over and examines her expression and the fresh bruise on her neck. He mocks Agent 17s failure, saying she did not pass the final test and that maybe her replacement will do better. He drops the bat then drags Agent 17s body out of the room by her legs.
