Deadly Love Triangle

Alice lounges on the living room sofa while studying from her college text book getting ready for next weeks test. Her roommate Whitney enters the rom and excitedly announces that she has made a plan that same evening to go on a date with Josh, the guy they both secretly desire. Alice has already gone on a few dates with Josh but has kept it on the down low so as not to offend her roommate. Hearing that Whitney is going to go on a date with him leaves Alice confused and annoyed, so she hurriedly texts Josh while trying to keep a cool demeanor for her roommate. Josh texts Alice back, assuring her that he is only going to let Whitney down easy, but Alice isn’t buying it. Whitney goes to her room to pick out an outfit and get her makeup ready for the night out.

As Whitney prepared for her date, Alice gets increasingly agitated at how Josh is handling the situation, so she goes up to Whitney’s room and feigns an illness in an attempt to keep her roommate from leaving. But Whitney just ignores Alice, eager for her evening with Josh. She dismisses Alice’s concerns and continues getting ready. Alice, frustrated, returns to the living room where she ignored Josh’s call and goes to sleep on the couch.

It turns out Josh has broken into the house and has been messaging the roommates from inside the closet connected to the living room. While Alice is sleeping, Josh sneaks past her on the couch up the stairs and into Whitney’s room. Whitney has changed into her dress and puts the finishing touches on her look when she notices Josh in the mirror. Before she can even comprehend what is happening, Josh attacks her from behind wrapping a hand around her mouth and another around her waist. He holds Whitney close as he suffocates her, muffling her cries for help at the same time. They struggle standing for a while until Whitney goes limp and passes out on the floor. Josh stealthily shuts the bedroom door, the hoists Whitney’s body up onto the bed. He takes a cord from his hoodie pocket and wraps it around Whitney’s neck while she starts to regain consciousness. They struggle on the bed, Josh pulling with all his might and holding Whitney in place while she kicks her feet out and claws at the cord around her throat. They struggle on the bed until Whitney fades away, falling back into the pillows and spasming uncontrollably. To ensure Whitney is lifeless, Josh brutally snaps her neck, solidifying the finality of his actions.

With Whitney dead, Josh turns his attention to Alice, who remains sleeping on the couch blissfully unaware of the horror that has just occurred upstairs. Josh pulls the blanket away from Alice while she is sleeping, revealing her legs and feet to him. He gently wakes her up and the two converse. Josh confessing he has ended things with Whitney but remains vague about how it occurred. Alice is happy Josh has decided to stick with her, and she gives him a big hug professing they were meant to be together. Josh feigns interest, but his dour expression betrays his true intentions. Alice closes her eyes and leans in for a kiss with Josh but instead his hands make their way around her neck and he strangles her senseless. Alice’s relief turns into confusion and terror as Josh attacks her and she struggles against his crushing hands desperately. Kicking her legs in the air, gasping for breath, but Josh holds on tight. He puts all of his power into the attack and Alice’s eyes roll back into her head while her tongue sticks out from the overwhelming pressure. Despite her attempts to fight back, Josh’s strength overwhelms her and he crushes her neck, leaving her alive but paralyzed and gasping for air.

To finish it all off, Josh picks up Alice while her body is still twitching and she attempts to plead for her life, and he carries her upstairs into the bedroom, placing her next to Whitney’s corpse. Alice, barely conscious, realizes with horror that her roommate is dead and that she too is about to meet the same fate. Her body spasms and her feet twitch while Josh calmly explains how this was the only way he could end things with them. He lifts Alice’s body up halfway and tells her not to be afraid before he cruelly snaps her neck. Josh lifts Alices limp hand and positions it on top of Whitney’s hand, giving each roommate a final look. He feels a twisted sense of freedom, believing her has finally liberated himself from the we of deceit that kept him between these two friends.
